In 1920, on May 16, when the opera Bohemia ( Čergari ) was performed for the first time ) in Belgrade, the reconstruction of the war-ravaged building of the National Theater took a long time. Thus, the real beginning of the great successful journey of the Belgrade Opera belongs to the first years of the work of the Manege, a riding hall adapted to theatrical needs. This opera will, with interruptions, be held in the repertoire until the occupation. If the data from the preserved posters are to be believed, the last one (109th time) was performed on March 15, 1941. The direction was entrusted to Evgeni Marijašec, and the conductor was Stevan. K. Hristić. The main female roles were sung by Ada Poljakova and Olga Stefanović. The famous Liza Popova also appeared in the role of Mimi. The memories of Mate Milošević are beautiful, who writes: "There were moments in the warm atmosphere of the former Manege that are not forgotten. At one Bohemian play, in the last act, the bed on which the dying Mimi lay collapsed. Reason to laugh, but Mimi was adored by Liza Popova. Ertl, Marcel, managed quickly and set up two chairs. Lying on those chairs, Popova, it seemed to us more shocking than ever, sang and acted out the whole scene of dying. She did not want to appear at the applause, angry, believing that her scene had failed, and our applause turned into demonstrative applause, we assumed that it had occurred to someone to plant all this on Popova out of malice. They barely managed to remove us from the audience. " The next (second) setting of  Bohemiait was during the occupation, more precisely, on April 18, 1942, under the baton of conductor Hans Herner, directed by Nikola Cvejić, who appears in the role of Marcel. Other roles were performed by Vladeta Popović, Jovan Stefanović, Žarko Cvejić. Mimi and Mizeta were Zlata Đunđenac and Nadežda Stajić. The decor was designed by Miomir Denić, and the costumes were designed by Mica Babić. It is interesting that this, the second exhibition of BOEMA, was not premiered in the building of the National Theater, which was destroyed in the bombing on April 6, but again - in the Manege. In the newly liberated Belgrade, on March 16, 1945,  the Bohemians are on the stage of the National Theater again. More like a renewal of the previous setting from 1942 than like the rights of the Prime Minister. Bohemiaappear in front of the Belgrade audience under the conductorship of Davorin Zupanc and with Aleksandar Marinkovic, Petro Obradovic, Bozidar Mitrovic, Anica Stojanovic and Dara Stojakovic in the lead roles. The costumes were again entrusted to Milica Babić Jovanović. Three decades later, on December 11, 1976, Bohemiaare again premiered on the stage of the National Theater. The play was directed by Borislav Popović, conducted by Borislav Pašćan, set designer was Petar Pašić, and costume designer was Ljiljana Dragović. The team of young, talented performers interpreted their Parisian peers: Rodolfa - Predrag Protić, Šonara - Goran Gligorić, Marsela - Zoran Aleksandrić, Kolena - Nebojša Maričić. The main female roles were successfully sung by Gordana Jevtović (Mimi) and Olga Đokić (Mizeta). The play has been on the repertoire for a long time and we can freely say, as the critics pointed out, that the taste of our opera audience was formed in Puccini's works, especially in Bohemia .
