The well-known fairy tale Cinderella in the Opera of Joaquino Rosini has turned into a fun drama for adults. The creative team of the production Barbe & Doucet carried Cinderella's work to the 1930s in a New York cabaret mood.

In order for Ramiro to inherit the theater from his recently deceased father, he must marry. Inherited King's Follies was once one of the most prestigious ravens in New York, but the heyday is long gone. In order for the business to develop, Ramiro's advisor Alidoro recommends marrying the daughter of Don Maniko, the owner of the successful burlesque show Button Club . Manifiko's stepdaughter - Cinderella Angelina takes care of her sisters and other Button Club artists, but she dreams of becoming a theatrical costume designer. Her creative vision helps to become a partner in Ramiro's business, but the attractive nature captures the boy's heart.

Opera Cinderella is staged at the Latvian National Opera for the first time.

Labi zināmā pasaka Pelnrušķīte Džoakīno Rosīni operā pārvērtusies par jautru drāmu pieaugušajiem. Iestudējuma radošā komanda Barbe & Doucet Pelnrušķītes darbību pārnesusi uz 1930. gadu Ņujorku kabarē noskaņās.

Lai Ramiro no nesen mirušā tēva mantotu teātri, viņam ir jāapprecas. Mantojamā King’s Follies reiz ir bijusi viena no prestižākajām rēvijām Ņujorkā, bet ziedu laiki tai sen jau garām. Lai bizness attīstītos, Ramiro padomnieks Alidoro iesaka precēt veiksmīgā burleskas šova Button Club īpašnieka dona Maņifiko meitu. Maņifiko pameita – Pelnrušķīte Andželīna rūpējas par savām māsām un citām Button Club māksliniecēm, bet pati sapņo kļūt par teātra kostīmu mākslinieci. Viņas radošā vīzija palīdz kļūt par partneri Ramiro biznesā, bet pievilcīgā daba iekaro puiša sirdi.

Opera Pelnrušķīte Latvijas Nacionālajā operā tiek iestudēta pirmo reizi.
