Jacques Offenbach's "Fantastic Opera" premiered in Paris in 1881 and impresses with its intertwined storylines and character constellations. It is based on a play by Jules Barbier and Michel Florentin Carré, in which various stories by the writer ETA Hoffmann are processed. The opera version of "Les Contes d'Hoffmann" inspires with numbers such as the song "Kleinzack", the coloratura aria of the mechanical doll Olympia or the famous barcarole "Belle nuit, ô nuit d'amour", in which Giulietta and Nicklausse portray the night and the sing love.

Jacques Offenbachs „Fantastische Oper“ wurde 1881 in Paris uraufgeführt und beeindruckt durch die ineinander verschränkten Handlungsstränge und Figurenkonstellationen. Sie basiert auf einem Schauspiel von Jules Barbier und Michel Florentin Carré, in dem verschiedene Erzählungen des Schriftstellers E. T. A. Hoffmann verarbeitet werden. Die Opernfassung von „Les Contes d’Hoffmann“ begeistert durch Nummern wie das Lied „Kleinzack“, die Koloraturarie der mechanischen Puppe Olympia oder die berühmte Barcarole „Belle nuit, ô nuit d’amour“, in der Giulietta und Nicklausse die Nacht und die Liebe besingen.
