The religious repertoire has always been for Mozart not a circumstantial exercise, an obligatory step, but a genre in its own right, cultivated with regularity throughout his career. From his very first already promising Masses , the musician demonstrates a mastery of instrumental polyphony and vocality. The Mass in C is nourished by the influences of Bach and Handel, especially in the large choirs. There are also some Italian influences in the solo parts, straight from opera as in the dazzling Gloria . This Mass in C , although unfinished, constitutes –  Requiemaside – the pinnacle of Mozart's sacred music. Another peak in its genre, the musician's last symphony will introduce this concert.

Le répertoire religieux a toujours été pour Mozart non pas un exercice de circonstance, une étape obligée, mais un genre à part entière, cultivé avec régularité tout au long de son parcours. Dès ses toutes premières Messes déjà prometteuses, le musicien fait preuve d’une maîtrise de la polyphonie instrumentale et de la vocalité. La Messe en ut est nourrie des influences de Bach et Haendel, tout particulièrement dans les grands chœurs. On note également quelques influences italiennes dans les parties solistes, tout droit venues de l’opéra comme dans l’éclatant Gloria. Cette Messe en ut, bien qu’inachevée, constitue – Requiem mis à part – le sommet de la musique sacrée de Mozart. Autre sommet dans son genre, l’ultime symphonie du musicien introduira ce concert.
