The Philharmonic returned to the Benaki Museum for another concert, on the third of this year, on February 22. The master musicians of the orchestra collaborated for the first time with the excellent Greek conductor, George Balatsinos.
 

The concert started with the work of George Sicilianos "Metamorphoses". This work, in free form variations, was written in 1993 and is a transcript of a piano study by the same composer. This was followed by the Concertino for oboe and string orchestra by Nikos Skalkotas . This is a work that the great composer did not manage to orchestrate. The Philharmonic chooses the orchestration of Piero Guarino for this concert . The soloist in the oboe is the Greek artist Costas Giovanis .
 

The concert closed with one of the most emblematic works of world music literature. Starting its participation in the International Year of Beethoven (250 years since its birth), the Philharmonic is confronted with the popular Agreement no. 5, in do minor. It is a work station, around which entire aesthetic theories and currents were developed and on the basis of which composers, works, but also entire historical periods were characterized. A work on the verge of unparalleled classical austerity and explosive romantic expressiveness, in a unique and long-awaited interpretation by the Philharmonic.
