Upon completion of the semi-final chamber music rounds, the judges have determined the following competitors as the finalists of this year’s Michael Hill International Violin Competition.

The Michael Hill International Violin Competition, one of the world’s most sought-after international violin prizes, launches the careers of future musical legends right here in New Zealand.  

In June sixteen of the world’s finest young violinists will go head-to-head for a prize package valued at over $100,000. In 2019, South Korean Violinist Anna Im took out the prestigious prize. 

The three finalists compete for top honours performing with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra in the Grand Final.

The Grand Finale performance will call on each competitor to perform their chosen concerto with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Andrew Litton.

The Grand Finale will take place on Saturday 10 June, 7.30pm – Auckland Town Hall.
