Lyric chamber opera with the opera studio OperAvenir

The enigmatic and androgynous character of the singer Mignon from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's novel Wilhelm Meister's Apprenticeship inspired the French composer Ambroise Thomas to write his most successful opera in the mid-19th century. As their final project, the members of the opera studio OperAvenir interpret the story on the small stage. The famous arias and the lyrical richness of sound of the opera can be experienced here in a chamber music version. For this performance, the opera studio is collaborating with the renowned Collegium Musicum Basel for the first time.

Lyrische Kammeroper mit dem Opernstudio OperAvenir

Die rätselhafte und androgyne Figur der Sängerin Mignon aus Johann Wolfgang von Goethes Roman ‹Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre› inspirierte den französischen Komponisten Ambroise Thomas Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts zu seiner erfolgreichsten Oper. Als ihr Abschlussprojekt interpretieren die Mitglieder des Opernstudios OperAvenir die Geschichte auf der Kleinen Bühne. Die berühmten Arien und der lyrische Klangreichtum der Oper sind hier in einer kammermusikalischen Fassung zu erleben. Für diese Aufführung arbeitet das Opernstudio erstmals mit dem renommierten Collegium Musicum Basel zusammen.
