A welcome return for CBSO's Associate Artist Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla to lead the CBSO in Brahms’ gorgeous, sweeping Violin Concerto (the composer apparently sweated over every bar, but you would never know it!). Stephen Waarts tackles the sparkling solo part. Weinberg’s Symphony No.4 is all about contrast: fierce and powerful - but with a sweet centre.
