1954 von Karl Richter gegründet, erlangte der Münchener Bach-Chor Weltruf. 2005 wurde Hansjörg Albrecht neuer Künstlerischer Leiter, »ein Glücksfall«, so die Süddeutsche Zeitung. Unter ihm entwickelte der Chor ein neues künstlerisches Profil und einen außergewöhnlich transparenten Klang. Im November widmet sich das Ensemble mit seinem traditionellen Partner, dem Münchener Bach-Orchester, mit drei Mailänder Opern-Ouvertüren, der »Großen Messe« in c-moll sowie der Motette »Exsultate, jubilate« einem italienischen Mozart-Programm. Der Komponist schuf Musik, deren Magie sich in jeder einzelnen Phrase offenbart.

Auch die Solistin Chen Reiss vermag zu verzaubern: Die gebürtige Israelin begeistert Publikum und Presse gleichermaßen mit einem »makellos produzierten und verlockenden Ton, gepaart mit hervorragender Musikalität« (Opera News). Als Mitglied der Bayerischen Staatsoper machte sich die Sopranistin schnell einen Namen. Zahlreiche Engagements führten sie seitdem u. a. an die großen Opernhäuser in Wien, London oder Paris.

Founded in 1954 by Karl Richter, the Munich Bach Choir achieved world renown. In 2005, Hansjörg Albrecht became the new artistic director, "a stroke of luck," according to the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Under him, the choir developed a new artistic profile and an extraordinarily transparent sound. In November, the ensemble and its traditional partner, the Munich Bach Orchestra, devote themselves to an Italian Mozart program with three Milan opera overtures, the »Great Mass« in C minor and the motet »Exsultate, jubilate«. The composer created music whose magic is revealed in every single phrase.

The soloist Chen Reiss is also able to enchant: the native Israeli inspires audiences and press alike with a "perfectly produced and enticing sound, paired with excellent musicality" (Opera News). As a member of the Bavarian State Opera, the soprano quickly made a name for herself. Since then, she has had numerous engagements, including at the major opera houses in Vienna, London and Paris.
