2021 GPMF Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3 Pre-Concert Lecture with Seth Boustead and Vadim Gluzman

The composer of Messiah raises the roof with this soaring musical celebration, the Dettingen Te Deum. Written in the wake of the Battle of Dettingen, Handel pays tribute to King George II after his victory over the French (it was the last time a British sovereign led an army into battle). Carlos Kalmar leads soloists along with the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus. Also on the program, the Festival welcomes violinist Vadim Gluzman for Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3. The concert opens with Elegía Andina, "Andean Elegy" by Gabriela Lena Frank.
