One of the most intriguing American conductors today, Richard Rosenberg , student and collaborator of world-famous conductors such as Bernstein, Sawalisch, Solti or Harnoncourt, is also a passionate searcher for forgotten masterpieces of American classical music . Under his conductor's leadership, young, full-blooded artists, the Symphony Orchestra, choir and soloists of the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb, will perform well-known and newly discovered works - jewels of American music history! An encounter with the passionate and captivating music of the American composer Dana Suesse(1909 – 1987) is an unforgettable and magical experience for everyone who hears it. Criticism of her time called her the girl Gershwin because of the irresistible jazz rhythms that flow through the bloodstream of her musical being and her works . Suesse, a brilliant pianist, a student of the famous Alexander Siloti (the last living student of Franz Liszt), and later one of the most gifted composers in the class of the famous Nadia Boulanger in Paris, wrote the musical history of the USA with beautiful jazz standards and masterfully composed orchestral music full of colors and intense emotions, comparable to the most exciting film music of Hollywood. Cantata Survivors from Warsaw by the genius inventor of dodecaphony and naturalized American Arnold Schönberg(1874 - 1951) is a poignant and deeply experienced tonal picture of war suffering and the Holocaust, and as a direct contrast to that powerfully expressive work, the program also includes the cheerful Overture de Brocéliande with classically beautiful melodic lines by the inspired American composer Lucien Lambert (1828 - 1896). The magnificent highlight of the concert will be one of the most beautiful and popular sacred works of the 20th century - Chichester Psalms by the great Leonard Bernstein (1918 - 1990), a composition in which the ardor of the beautiful melodies of oriental Jewish traditional music is colored by luxurious jazz rhythms, refined with shades of American pop and revue music of the sixties (which we love so much in the composer's Story from the West Side), but also forms in the monumental formal architecture of the Western European sacral tradition.

Jedan od najintrigantnijih američkih dirigenata današnjice, Richard Rosenberg, učenik i suradnik svjetski poznatih dirigenata kao što su Bernstein, Sawalisch, Solti ili Harnoncourt, ujedno je i strastveni tragač za zaboravljenim remek-djelima američke klasične glazbe. Pod njegovim dirigentskim vodstvom, mladi, punokrvni umjetnici, Simfonijski orkestar, zbor i solisti Muzičke akademije Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, izvest će poznata i novootkrivena djela-dragulje američke povijesti glazbe! Susret sa strastvenom i zanosnom glazbom američke skladateljice Dane Suesse (1909. – 1987.) nezaboravno je i magično iskustvo za svakoga tko je čuje. Kritika njezina vremena zbog neodoljivih džez-ritmova koji teku krvotokom njezina glazbenog bića i njezinih djela prozvala ju je the girl Gershwin. Suesse, briljantna pijanistica, učenica slavnoga Alexandra Silotija (posljednjega živućeg učenika Franza Liszta), a poslije i jedna od najdarovitijih skladateljica u klasi glasovite Nadie Boulanger u Parizu, ispisala je glazbenu povijest SAD-a predivnim džez-standardima i majstorski skladanom orkestralnom glazbom punom boja i intenzivnih emocija, usporedivom s najuzbudljivijom filmskom glazbom Hollywooda. Kantata Preživjeli iz Varšave genijalnoga izumitelja dodekafonije i naturaliziranog Amerikanca Arnolda Schönberga (1874. – 1951.) potresna je i duboko proživljena tonska slika ratnih stradanja i holokausta, a kao neposredni kontrast tom silno ekspresivnom djelu, na programu su još i vedra Uvertira de Brocéliande klasicistički lijepih melodijskih linija nadahnutoga američkog skladatelja Luciena Lamberta (1828. – 1896.). Veličanstveni vrhunac koncerta bit će jedno od najljepših i najpopularnijih sakralnih djela 20. stoljeća – Čičesterski psalmi velikoga Leonarda Bernsteina (1918. – 1990.), skladba u kojoj se žar predivnih melodija orijentalne židovske tradicijske glazbe boji raskošnim ritmovima džeza, oplemenjuje nijansama američke pop i revijalne glazbe šezdesetih godina (koju toliko volimo u skladateljevoj Priči sa zapadne strane), ali i oblikuje u monumentalnoj formalnoj arhitekturi zapadnoeuropske sakralne tradicije.
