First aired on Broadway in 1956, My Fair Lady tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a simple girl who sells flowers on the streets of London, and Henry Higgins, a linguistics teacher with a phonetics expert who receives a challenge from Colonel Pickering - a bet he can only win if he manages to present Eliza at the Embassy Ball as a cultured lady and an important member of high society. This is how Eliza's transformation begins, a process that is constantly under the influence of delicious moments of the comic of language and situation.
The memorable songs of this musical were one of the main attractions behind the making of the 1964 film of the same name, which won eight Oscars, starring the beloved actors Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison.
