If we are touched raw by the torments of a heroine, moved to tears by the misfortunes of a hero, nothing upsets as much as the collective tragedies. Thus, beyond the tribulations of the libretto, the destiny of the Hebrews reduced to slavery by the king of Babylon Nebuchadnezzar refers to all the exiles, all the enslavement, all the hopes of a freedom to be reconquered... History eternal, inspired by a figure both real and biblical, Nabucco launched the career of Verdi with brilliance…, and has hardly left the stages since its creation in 1842. In 2016, Marie-Eve Signeyrole had already presented at Lille a very impressive Labyrinth Monster. Coming from the cinema, she goes beyond the peplum nature of Nabucco, to question its violence and current events - invisible people, identity concerns, collusion of political and religious powers... At her side, a familiar with the place, the Italian chef  Roberto Rizzi Brignoli – great specialist of Verdi in front of the eternal, as the spectators of the Trouvère know – will find the Orchester National de Lille . And the choirs of the Opéra de Lille and Dijon will unite their many voices in the “ Va, pensiero ”, a timeless and international anthem of all the “beautiful and lost” homelands.
