Organized by the three Rotary Clubs of the province of Carrara and Massa, Marina di Massa Riviera Apuana of the centenary and Lunigiana, the public event "Homage to the Flag" will be held on the occasion of the 226th anniversary of the birth of the Italian Tricolor.
At the Academy of Fine Arts, on 7 January 2023 starting at 3.30 pm, all citizens will be able to participate in a program focused on the celebration of the Italian Tricolor on the occasion of its 226th birth anniversary.
With the patronage of the Prefecture of Massa Carrara, the Municipalities of Carrara and Massa, the Province of Massa-Carrara and with the collaboration of the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara and ANCRI, the event will be divided into the following programme: – INSTITUTIONAL
GREETINGS
– Professor Pietro Finelli, University of Pisa, lecture entitled THE COLORS OF «YOUNG ITALY»;
– Admiral (Ris) Enzo Menconi, Corps of the Port Authorities, speech entitled “FLAGS OF THE NAVY AND MERCHANT NAVY, ONE SOLO TRICOLORE”: – APPOINTMENT WITH THE
NOTES, Circolo Carrarese Friends of the opera «Angelo Mercuriali», M. Pietro Mariani (piano) and Marina Nachkebiya (soprano), with the extraordinary participation of Giorgio Giuseppina (bass);
– TRICOLOR VOLO TENNIS, Usd Apuania Carrara winner of the Europe Cup 2022;
– THE FLAG SEEN BY THE CHILDREN, Award ceremony for pupils of schools in the province of Massa Carrara.

The event is organized by the Rotary District 2071 in five cities in Tuscany: Carrara, together with Florence, Siena, Livorno and Grosseto.
It will be a public moment in which Rotary intends to demonstrate its closeness to the institutions and to recall the community to the sense of the state, due to the role it plays for peaceful coexistence and the well-being of society.
History, music, sport and education of teenagers, all around the theme of the flag, will be the theme of the event.
