The Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, which is well-known locally, will open the Kissinger Summer 2022 under the direction of its chief conductor Alain Altinoglu with festive sounds. Dvořák’s brilliant »Carnival« overture will be followed by Franz Liszt’s »Festival Sounds«, introduced by drum rolls and fanfares. A local hero of this year's festival geography is the Hungarian Emmerich Kálmán, who composed his operetta »Die Csárdásfürstin«, which premiered in Vienna in 1915, in the spa towns of Marienbad and Bad Ischl. Annette Dasch, who leads the top-class vocal ensemble of the evening in excerpts of the stage work, already gave the title role »soul and depth« in a Zurich production according to BR-Klassik.
