Following a decision of the Government, the Athens State Orchestra will not be able to receive audience to the opening concert of the artistic period 2020-2021. The concert will be available on line the same day and hour (Friday, 9th October, 20:30) on our YouTube channel and on the Facebook page of the Orchestra.

The opening piece of this artistic season will be Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, a symphony that marked the evolution of symphonic music and has been the symbol of the genuine passion and the most cataclysmic dramatism. But, even Beethoven's lesser-known works offer up real beauty and splendour to be discovered—and this is most certainly the case with the Name Day (Namensfeier) Overture. On the other hand, Tchaikovsky First Piano Concerto is anything but lesser-known. One of the most popular works in the symphonic repertoire, it will performed on this occasion by the celebrated soloist, Fil Liotis.

Η Κρατική Ορχήστρα Αθηνών, ακολουθώντας την Κοινή Υπουργική Απόφαση για την αποφυγή διασποράς του κορονοϊού COVID-19, δεν δύναται να υποδεχθεί κοινό στην προγραμματισμένη Εναρκτήρια Συναυλία της Καλλιτεχνικής Περιόδου 2020-2021. Η συναυλία θα μεταδοθεί διαδικτυακά την ίδια ημέρα και ώρα (Παρασκευή 09.10, 20:30) στο κανάλι YouTube και τη σελίδα Facebook της Ορχήστρας, άνευ αντιτίμου.

Η φετινή καλλιτεχνική περίοδος θα ανοίξει με την Πέμπτη του Μπετόβεν, μία συμφωνία ορόσημο στην εξέλιξη της συμφωνικής μουσικής, ταυτισμένη με το πιο γνήσιο πάθος και την πιο κατακλυσμιαία δραματικότητα. Αλλά ακόμα και στα λιγότερο διαδεδομένα έργα του Μπετόβεν ανακαλύπτει κανείς γνήσια ομορφιά και μεγαλοπρέπεια –και αυτό ισχύει απόλυτα στην περίπτωση της Εισαγωγής «για την ονομαστική εορτή». Αντίθετα, το Πρώτο Κοντσέρτο του Τσαϊκόφσκυ για πιάνο είναι από τα πιο δημοφιλή έργα της συμφωνικής φιλολογίας, που θα  ερμηνεύσει ο ακμαίος σολίστ, Τριαντάφυλλος Λιώτης.
