Opening of a cycle of symphonic programs dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of S.S. Prokofiev. Symphonic programs are a powerful line that permeates the entire theater season from September 2021 to June 2022. The programs are grouped into thematic blocks and meaningfully built around important anniversaries. The first of them is the 130th anniversary of the birth of S.S. Prokofiev - it's time to rethink his work. Maestro Valentin Uryupin, Alexander Samoile, Alexander Lazarev and Nodoka Okisawa will present the composer's symphonic, ballet and cantata-oratorio music. The theater gives the opportunity to hear his rarely performed compositions, such as Piano Concerto No. 4 for orchestra. All seven symphonies of the composer will be performed during the year. The solo part in the piano concerto will be performed by Yol Yum Son , a virtuoso pianist, one of the leading South Korean performers. She was awarded the silver medal of the XIII International Cliburn Piano Competition (USA, 2009) and the second prize of the XIV International P.I. Tchaikovsky (Russia, 2011). Yol Yum Son collaborates with the world's best orchestras, on September 15 he will play with the orchestra of the Novaya Opera Theater.
