Operaorkestret: prokofjev 3 Med Isata Kanneh-mason
British shooting star with Prokofiev The opera orchestra welcomes the summer with the British IT pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason - under the musical direction of the chief conductor of the Finnish National Opera, Hannu Lintu. The opera orchestra and conductor Hannu Lintu bring with them British shooting star Isata Kanneh-Mason when they close the concert season with Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 and Mahler's Fifth Symphony. Pianist phenomenon from Nottingham Isata Kanneh-Mason is an IT girl to be reckoned with on the British classical music scene. The 25-year-old Nottingham girl comes from an extraordinary musical family of seven siblings, whom Simon Cowell named England's most talented family when they performed as a team on Britain's Got Talent under the stage name The Kanneh-Masons. She is still most recognized for her debut album Romance – a tribute to Clara Schumann – which sent her straight to the top of the classical music charts in 2019. When she makes her debut at the Opera, it is with the great piano favourite: Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 . Prokofiev's most popular Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto is among his most popular. The Russian Revolution had sent the composer out of the country, and the concert was finished when he had just started his life in Paris, in 1921. The concert is known for requiring a dexterous and persistent soloist - and therefore sits at the top of the list of the most virtuosic concerts a pianist can bring to the market. Mahler's life and death In Gustav Mahler's musical portrait of humanity, death was often the keynote. The death of a brother was central to Das Klagende Lied , the loss of his own child became Kindertotenlieder , "what death taught me" became the subtitle of his ninth symphony - and the composer's own death suddenly broke into his tenth, on a spring day in 1911. His fifth symphony came about after a near-death experience. We can also hear that in the play; the symphony starts with a mourning march. But even if death was the prerequisite for this work as well, it is life that Mahler frames here. The symphony shines with a life-affirming creative joy.
