This summer, Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) returns to Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall for our third annual Bach Festival in celebration of J.S. Bach’s timeless music and unparalleled legacy. Praised for his “admirable creativity and pluck” (The New York Times), Principal Conductor Bernard Labadie leads the festival with engaging repertoire expertly curated to showcase the rich beauty of Baroque-era music.

Guest artists include Gramophone Hall of Fame cellist Steven Isserlis; "rock star" (Los Angeles Times) violinist Stefan Jackiw; Principal Oboe of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Philippe Tondre; and soprano Amanda Forsythe, praised for her "wonderful agility and silvery top notes" (Opera News) performing beloved Baroque works by Bach, Handel, Haydn and more.

Celebrating J.S. Bach’s Musical Legacy | OSL Bach Festival | June 2-22

A performance of J. S. Bach’s awe-inspiring, choral masterpiece St. John Passion is always a notable event. This concert is particularly momentous, however, as it marks the completion of Bernard Labadie’s extraordinary tenure as principal conductor of Orchestra of St. Luke’s (OSL). It also completes Labadie’s cycle of major Bach choral works performed across New York. For the occasion, the ensemble is joined by a spectacular cast of singers and La Chapelle de Québec, a celebrated choir founded and music directed by Labadie. As we celebrate the beloved orchestra’s 50th anniversary season, this performance closes an incredible chapter in triumphant fashion.
