The Grail King Amfortas has become involved with a »devilishly beautiful woman«. This offense was punished by the magician Klingsor with a wound that always opens when Amfortas reveals the Grail - but this is the only way to ensure the survival of the elite Grail Knights. Only the pity of a “pure fool” can dissolve this calamity. However, the young daredevil PARSIFAL knows nothing about his luck and clumsily trudges through a series of trials - before he can "redeem" the ascetic Knights of the Grail.
Richard Wagner's last music drama is one of the most fascinating works in the history of opera, precisely because of its contradictions. This almost five-hour evening will be directed by the young director Nilufar K. Münzing.
