First there is enchantment, then philosophy, and at all times there is a sensuality of sound when the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg under Jérémie Rhorer joins the expressive power of soprano Patricia Petibon on May 5. The composers Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Maurice Ravel spin adventurous fairy-tales in Skazka and Shéhérazade, two works heard far too rarely, while Richard Strauss offers rousing rhetoric in his popular Also sprach Zarathustra. Before the concert, Jérémie Rhorer participates in an Artist Talk at the Grand Auditorium at 7:15 pm.
