Experience Philip Glass’ mesmerizing Eleventh Symphony. From its majestic opening through to a shattering climax, Glass’ symphony takes its place as one of the great works of the 21st century. Joining Glass on the program is the Canadian premiere of Steve Reich’s Jacob’s Ladder with Synergy Vocals (UK), alongside VSO clarinetist Jeanette Jonquil in John Adams’ Gnarly Buttons, and a world premiere from Canada’s Linda Catlin Smith.

Mountain commissioned with support of the Hugh Davidson Fund. 

Jacob’s Ladder Co-Commission with New York Philharmonic, BBC Radio 3, Fundação Casa da Música, Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Queen Silvia Concert Hall and O/Modernt, Radio France, and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
