In tribute to the composer Philippe Boesmans, (re)discover one of his latest masterpieces: "Pinocchio", presented during the 2017 edition of the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. 
Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Pinocchio: Joël Pommerat never stops revisiting the tales that rocked our childhood. As usual, the man of the theater is here both librettist and director. A double hat that allows him to fully embrace the work of Carlo Collodi.

More faithful to the original tale than Walt Disney was, Pommerat therefore gives us a more ambiguous Pinocchio , more "tete-à-slap" too. For this production, he reunited in Aix-en-Provence with the composer Philippe Boesmans , with whom he had set up Au Monde , an opera as beautiful as it was poisonous.

It's up to Chloe Briotthat he returns to embody the famous puppet. Her wanderings lead her from a cabaret, to a circus, passing through a classroom. So many places where Pinocchio meets colorful characters who will help him draw a line between what is good and what is bad. A gallery of protagonists embodied by just a handful of singers: Marie-Eve Munger, Stéphane Degout, Vincent Le Texier, Yann Beuron… A troupe spirit dear to Joël Pommerat, carried by the music of Klangforum Wien and conductor Emilio Pomarico.
