Based on a scandalous event that occurred in England in the 60s, which had as its protagonist the Duchess of Argyll, one of the great representatives of the beautiful people of the time, whose divorce case, filed by the Duke for infidelities of the Duchess , was a permanent topic in the British tabloids.

The British tabloid press, neighing with pleasure, made public the most lurid details of the promiscuous sexual life of what was called “the Dirty Duchess”.

Thomas Adès (London 1971), is one of the most outstanding English composers. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious Grawemeyer Award (2000) making him the youngest in the contest's history.
