Our ensemble includes performers born in the countries most affected by the current war. In addition to the Sobieski family of the Polish origin, Bohdan Subchak is a native of Ukraine. He studied at the Kiev School of Music and the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Music in Kiev. He has performed extensively as a soloist and in ensembles throughout the area. He has performed with the Wooster Symphony for over 20 years and served as concertmaster for two seasons. He is currently a member of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, a substitute for the Akron Symphony Orchestra, and concertmaster for the Alliance Symphony Orchestra. He is on the faculty with the University of Mount Union.

Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church is now easily accessible through the Opportunity Corridor. Built in 1800’s, this splendid church is a National, State and City Landmark recognized by all as the first Hungarian Catholic Church in the Western Hemisphere. With the tragic events of 1956 and then the collapse of communism and the political changes in Europe during the 1990s, families from Hungary, Transylvania and other areas came to America and Cleveland, Ohio. Thus our concert brings together many threads of life affected by adverse political events. We are also returning to one of our favorite concert venues: the magnificent First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland. Both churches have ample parking.
