Prussia's court music returns to the place where the ensemble and its concert series were founded more than a dozen years ago. On four Sunday afternoons, the Apollo Hall will again be filled with music from the Baroque and early Classic periods, with works by Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons, by Graun and Hasse, which dominated the Berlin opera schedule of the Friderician period, and with compositions by Stamitz, Handel and Telemann, who set accents throughout Europe. The musicians of the Staatskapelle play in chamber orchestra size, on their modern instruments, in historically informed performance practice.
