The young Quartetto Leonardo, formed in 2019, skilfully constructs the program of this concert by uniting one to the other – like the tiles of a domino – three string quartets linked by intimate and underground connections: the first of the two “Lobkowitz Quartets ” by Haydn, born in the last year of the eighteenth century, the third Quartet by Šostakovič, innervated with classicism, and finally the “dialectical synthesis”, declined in the present tense, of Quartet n.2 by Wolfgang Rihm.

Il giovane Quartetto Siegfried, vincitore del “Premio Farulli”, assegnato ogni anno dalla critica musicale italiana nell’ambito del Premio Abbiati, costruisce ad arte il programma di questo concerto mettendo uno fronte all’altro due capolavori della letteratura cameristica: il Quartetto “L’aurora” di Haydn con quel suo straordinario tema iniziale e lo spettacolare Quartetto op.110 di Šostakovič con le sue tinte espressioniste; fa da ponte Langsamer Satz, movimento di quartetto composto da Webern nel 1905, un lavoro giovanile di intensa espressività ancora legato al tonalismo e al “verbo” cameristico brahmsiano eppur già proiettato verso la modernità.
