At the end of this quiet season, the town hall concert will once again be operatic and sonorous. On two evenings, the Würzburg Philharmonic Orchestra, under the musical direction of General Music Director Enrico Calesso, will transform the inner courtyard of the town hall into an opulent Italian opera oasis. At this concert dedicated to Italian opera, the talents of the genre Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Vincenzo Bellini and Umberto Giordano should not be missing. Soprano Alessandra di Giorgio and baritone Federico Longhi have brought along arias and duets from Verdi's "Un ballo in maschera", "Il trovatore" and "Rigoletto" as well as Bellini's "Norma". Puccini's Vissi d'arte from "Tosca" and two aria highlights from "Andrea Chénier" round off the overview of Italian opera.
