Η Ισραηλιτική Κοινότητα Θεσσαλονίκης σε συνεργασία με το Μέγαρο Μουσικής Θεσσαλονίκης και την Κρατική Ορχήστρα Θεσσαλονίκης διοργανώνουν για την ‘Εθνική Ημέρα Μνήμης των Ελλήνων Εβραίων Μαρτύρων και Ηρώων του Ολοκαυτώματος’ αφιερωματική συναυλία με καλεσμένο έναν τους σπουδαιότερους βιολιστές των ημερών μας, τον βιρτουόζο Gil Shaham, ο οποίος συμπράττει με την ΚΟΘ υπό τη μουσική διεύθυνση της καλλιτεχνικής της διευθύντριας Ζωής Τσόκανου.
Το πρόγραμμα ξεκινά με τον Ψαλμό 22 που ερμηνεύει στα Ισπανοεβραϊκά η υψίφωνος Μαριάντζελα Χατζησταματίου και ακολουθεί το καθηλωτικό Αντάτζιο για έγχορδα του Μπάρμπερ, το δημοφιλέστερο αμερικανικό συμφωνικό έργο, που σκορπά ευλαβικά γαλήνη και μακαριότητα προκαλώντας μία αίσθηση ανύψωσης στον ουρανό.
Ο Gil Shaham ερμηνεύει το μεγαλειώδες Κοντσέρτο για βιολί του Μπετόβεν, το σημαντικότερο ίσως έργο αυτού του είδους. Ένα πνευματώδες δημιούργημα του κορυφαίου συνθέτη που προσθέτει λυρισμό στις υψηλές δεξιοτεχνικές προσκλήσεις για να εκφράσει υψηλά ιδανικά και να στοχαστεί πάνω στον Έρωτα, την Ελευθερία και τη Δημοκρατία.

The Jewish Community of Thessaloniki in cooperation with the Thessaloniki Concert Hall and the Thessaloniki State Orchestra organize for the 'National Day of Remembrance of the Greek Jewish Martyrs and Heroes of the Holocaust' a tribute concert with one of the greatest violinists of our days, the virtuoso Gil Shaham, who will perform with the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki under the musical direction of its artistic director Zoe Tsokanou.
The programme begins with Psalm 22 performed in Spanish Hebrew by soprano Mariantzela Hadjistamatiou, followed by Barber's haunting Adagio for strings, the most popular American symphonic work, which reverently spreads peace and bliss, evoking a sense of uplifting in the sky.
Gil Shaham performs Beethoven's sublime Violin Concerto, perhaps the most important work of its kind. A witty creation by the leading composer, it adds lyricism to the high virtuosic invitations to express lofty ideals and reflect on Love, Freedom and Democracy.
