The Higher Music Center of the Basque Country, Musikene, joins the Orfeón Donostiarra to present the Requiem for four-voice mixed choir and orchestra by Luigi Cherubini (1760-1842), one of the most unusual masses for the dead as it does without solo singers , created by the composer in 1816 in memory of Louis XVI, who was beheaded in the French Revolution. This work combines musical moments of tragedy, fear and surprise with other more emotional ones.
Maestro Víctor Pablo Pérez leads this project that combines the energy of the Musikene Symphony Orchestra and the experience of the choral group. The meeting will open with the Concerto for viola and orchestra by Béla Bartók (1881 – 1945), in which the young Russian trained in Musikene Yana Kucherova will intervene, playing the viola.
