Salut Salon
Oratorio / OrchestralConcert
Dreams tickle our senses. They amuse and inspire us. And they suddenly make the impossible seem child's play. On the occasion of their 20th stage anniversary, Salut Salon lead furiously and enchantingly through musical dream worlds between illusion and reality. Already with their brilliant opening, the "Tango del Diablo" by Astor Piazzolla, Angelika Bachmann (violin), Meta Hüper (violin), Heike Schuch (cello) and Olga Shkrygunova (piano) give an idea of how varied dreams can sound: turbulent and disturbing, tender and longing. The quartet strolls through the emotions with absolutely thrilling dynamics and not only uses the instruments in classical perfection, but also daringly and imaginatively as sound tools and artistic accomplices. Violins, cello and piano are tapped, edited and danced to. The instruments sound so impulsive and sensitive, as if they were independent characters, In “Dreams”, Salut Salon brings all sorts of magical creatures and fairy-tale characters to life. They do their practical jokes, make you think and fire up the imagination. The witches in Donovan's "Season of the Witch" are conjured up in a casually grooving manner. They fly around wildly in Bartholdy's "Walpurgis Night". And with beguiling finesse, they count through Goethe's "Hexeneinmaleins". The devil, on the other hand, is up to mischief in Prokofiev's "Diabolical Insinuation". And with the film music for "Harry Potter" it goes right into the mysteries of Hogwarts. Salut Salon knows no bounds when it comes to dreaming: a Yiddish number is bursting with the desire to dance, joie de vivre and the will to be free. And the lullaby "Nana" by the Georgian composer Sulkhan Tsintsadze gently tugs at the soul when a mother and her child dream of Whether Vivaldi, Brahms, Tchaikovsky or Dukas: Salut Salon interpret the works wonderfully headstrong and with an intoxicating joy of playing. The quartet amazes its audience with verbal acrobatics and slapstick, with tap dancing and a musical saw. And with all sorts of amazing effects: A glowing spark jumps over from one musician to the next, it's snowing on the stage like in a fairytale forest. And when things get particularly fast and passionate, even the cello bow catches fire. Not to forget the doll Oskar, who drives the pianist Olga insane with his hilarious magic tricks. Again and again the musicians join in polyphonic singing, as touching as it is euphoric. "Dreams" is a show full of poetry that they have wonderfully overheard from the world. Entertainment with sophistication and a wink that inspires and excites the audience. And which encourages you to follow your own dreams in the most beautiful way.
