A character who survived a huge and terrible event pours out his story, overcome by emotion. As he talks about his friend's betrayal and murder, the choir becomes a flocking crowd. Viewers are also swept up in this overwhelming emotional drama. Bach's St. John Passion is a work like a Shakespearean tragedy. Ian Bostridge sings the role of an evangelist, demonstrating both insight and dramatic expressiveness. Thierry Fischer conducts the concert, with Jeong Rok-ki, Seo Yeri, Roderick Williams, and the Seoul Motet Choir. The work they will recreate together should not be seen as a product of a specific religion, but as something that belongs to all mankind.
