On the last day of the year, travel with us to a country whose glorious musical heritage has been immortalized by operetta: the Kingdom of Hungary. Whether csárdás or waltzes – the Thüringer Symphoniker will play the “most Hungarian” melodies from the operettas by Emmerich Kálmán, Paul Abraham and Johann Strauss for you. The "Gypsy Baron", the "Countess Mariza" and of course the "Juliska from Budapest" will do the honors that evening. The orchestra also finds opportunities for virtuoso splendor in this repertoire.
