Giacomo Puccini’s Manon Lescaut is a shocking tale, told in softly melting vocal lines and seductive orchestral colours. Following staged performances at the Baden-Baden Easter Festival, the audience of the Philharmonie had the opportunity to enjoy a concert version in April 2014. Sir Simon Rattle conducts an illustrious ensemble of singers with the magnificent Dutch soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek in the title role.
