Diesen Fragen stellte sich der Komponist Gustav Mahler mit der zweiten Symphonie, die auch „Auferstehungssymphonie“ genannt wird. Die Entstehung des Werkes erstreckte sich über die Jahre von 1888 bis 1894. Und wie die meisten Symphonien Mahlers folgt auch diese dem Motto „Per aspera ad astra“, was bedeutet: „Über raue Pfade gelangt man zu den Sternen“. Ein Weg, der sich in der zweiten Symphonie und seiner herausragenden Klanglichkeit offenbart.

Cornelia von Kerssenbrock wird mit einem hundert Mann starken Orchester, dem Festivalchor und den SolistInnen das Festspielhaus Immling zum Klingen und Beben bringen.

The composer Gustav Mahler asked himself these questions with the second symphony, which is also known as the “Resurrection Symphony”. The composition of the work stretched over the years 1888 to 1894. And like most of Mahler's symphonies, this one also follows the motto "Per aspera ad astra", which means: "Over rough paths one reaches the stars". A path that is revealed in the second symphony and its outstanding sonority.

Cornelia von Kerssenbrock will make the Immling Festival Hall ring and tremble with a hundred-strong orchestra, the festival choir and the soloists.
