A Cyber opera in 3 acts As part of the creation of the cyber opera Terres Rares , the Eolie Songe company was hosted in a research residency at the Atelier Arts Sciences for two years (2020-2022). It will culminate in a presentation at the Hexagone Scène Nationale Arts Sciences in Meylan, on April 5 and 6, 2022 as part of the Détours de Babel festival and in awareness modules for EXPERIMENTA 2022. Terres Rares artistic project is a cyber opera lasting 1h30 in front-end mode. It is composed of 3 acts with 3 human protagonists (the man/baritone, the woman/soprano and the lover/tenor) and a robot. The subject A geological expedition is a fiasco on the borders of the far North. Following a tragedy (acts I and II), only a cyborg survives and questions human nature (act III). Programmed in incremental learning, it delivers what its memory contains using a Human/Machine interface (EEG headset worn by the actress/cyborg). He decides that the plant kingdom is the best of all worlds: plant fireworks as a final bouquet for an ode to the Living. The investigators (2 artificial intelligences) sent by the insurance company are investigating to understand the ins and outs of the tragedy... Thierry Poquet wishes to stage a tragicomic reflection on : - human intelligence and artificial memory - ongoing ecological evolution - otherness: the relationships that humans have with the Living ... and where the cyborg offers to spectator a mirror to our humanity. “In fact, what amuses me the most in our story is that it is the robots which, surviving for a time human failure, send us back, in all humility, a reflection of our madness and our hubris , of our propensity for excess. » Thierry Poquet (director)
