En soldat er på vej hjem fra krig, og møder en heks på vejen.
Hun spørger, om han kunne tænke sig at få fyldt sin rygsæk med penge?
Han skal bare kravle ned i et hult træ og hente dem.
Her vil han møde tre hunde. Den første har øjne så store som tekopper, og kisten, den sidder på, er fyldt med kobbermønter. Den næste har øjne så store som møllehjul og en kiste fyldt med sølvmønter. Den sidste hund har øjne så store som Rundetårn – og kisten er fyldt med guld.
Heksen vil ikke have penge – bare et fyrtøj, som hendes bedstemor har glemt nede i træet.
Men hvad er der med det fyrtøj?
Kan det noget særligt?
Måske hjælpe en simpel soldat med at få den smukke prinsesse?

Oplev H.C. Andersens eventyr Fyrtøjet i en fortryllende opsætning med livemusik ved Aalborg Symfoniorkester og kongelig skuespiller Søren Sætter-Lassen som fortæller.

Sammen med alle instrumenterne i symfoniorkestret fører skuespilleren Søren publikum dybt ind i Fyrtøjets eventyrlige verden i denne enestående koncert-fortælling, hvor tekst og musik fletter sig ind i hinanden. Det er et spændende møde med et musikalsk univers, som udvider sig og bliver både sjovt og en lille smule uhyggeligt, jo bedre man lytter efter ...

For hvordan lyder det, når en soldat pludselig befinder sig nede i de underjordiske gange under et forhekset træ? Når han drømmer om prinsessen? Eller når han kalder på sine magiske hunde?

Blandt de finde klassiske værker, som børn og voksne kan nyde uddrag af i forestillingen, er Riddernes dans fra Prokofievs Romeo & Julie, H.C. Lumbyes Gratulationsgalop, 1. sats fra Beethovens 4. symfoni og lidt af John Williams musik til Harry Potter-filmene.

Om det hele ender godt?
Det siger vi ikke, men vi vil godt fortælle, at forestillingens sidste stykke musik er bryllupsmarchen fra Mendelssohns En Skærsommernats drøm.

Med i forestillingen er også 9. og 10. klasses elever fra Orkesterefterskolen i Holstebro.

A soldier is on his way home from war and meets a witch on the way.
She asks if he would like to fill his backpack with money?
He just has to crawl down into a hollow tree and get them.
Here he will meet three dogs. The first has eyes the size of teacups, and the chest it sits on is filled with copper coins. The next one has eyes as big as mill wheels and a chest full of silver coins. The last dog has eyes as big as Round Tower - and the chest is full of gold.
The witch doesn't want money - just a pair of fire clothes that her grandmother left behind in the tree.
But what's with the fire clothes?
Can it do anything special?
Maybe help a simple soldier get the beautiful princess?

Experience HC Andersen's fairy tale Fyrtøjet in an enchanting setting with live music by the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and royal actor Søren Sætter-Lassen as narrator.

Together with all the instruments in the symphony orchestra, the actor Søren takes the audience deep into the fairytale world of Fyrtøjet in this unique concert-narrative, where text and music intertwine. It's an exciting encounter with a musical universe that expands and becomes both fun and a little creepy, the better you listen... Because what does it sound like

when a soldier suddenly finds himself down in the underground passages under a bewitched tree? When he dreams of the princess? Or when he calls his magical dogs?

Among the rare classical works that children and adults can enjoy excerpts from in the performance are the Dance of the Knights from Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet, HC Lumbye's Gratulationsgalop, the 1st movement from Beethoven's 4th Symphony and some of John Williams' music for the Harry Potter films.

Does it all end well?
We won't say that, but we would like to say that the last piece of music in the performance is the wedding march from Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Also participating in the performance are 9th and 10th grade students from the Orkesterefterskolen in Holstebro.
