Tο αφιέρωμα της Κρατικής Ορχήστρας Θεσσαλονίκης στην Μαρία Κάλλας θα επαναφέρει στη μνήμη μας την εκπληκτική φωνή και παρουσία αυτής της μεγάλης σταρ, που έκανε τομή στην ιστορία της όπερας ορίζοντας την μετέπειτα εξέλιξη του λυρικού τραγουδιού. Η Κάλλας συνδύαζε το θεϊκό ταλέντο της με μια προσωπική ιστορία σαν παραμύθι, μαγνητίζοντας το ενδιαφέρον του κοινού. Το ασχημόπαπο που έγινε κύκνος κατέκτησε όλο τον κόσμο και στη συνέχεια τον συγκλόνισε με μια θυελλώδη προσωπική ζωή, δημιουργώντας έναν ανεξίτηλο μύθο.

The Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra’s homage to Maria Callas will bring to memory the exceptional voice and presence of that great star, a landmark in the history of opera who defined the future development of song. Callas combined her divine talent with a fairytale-like personal story, riveting public interest. The ugly duckling turned swan conquered the entire world and then shook it to its foundations with her tempestuous personal life, creating an indelible myth.
