The ugly Duckling
Oratório / Orquestral
About longing to belong The story of the ugly duckling was originally written by HC Andersen, but has been edited by Jan-Erik Sääf, Pernilla Nydesjö and Jonas Nydesjö to become an interactive concert about longing for belonging and finding one's own identity, but also about bullying, exclusion and revenge. The Norrland Opera Symphony Orchestra plays newly written music composed by Jonas Nydesjö, for this exciting and magical saga. A little about the people behind the show Jonas Nydesjö, who wrote the music and some of the lyrics for the performance, is a composer, arranger and conductor. He has done many children's performances and concerts in collaboration with most orchestras around the country. Jonas studied composition at Malmö Academy of Music and regularly writes music for symphony orchestras in Sweden as well as for soloists and artists from both the classical world and in jazz and popular music. He has collaborated with, among others, Ola Salo, Annika Norlin, Bob Hund, Håkan Hellström, Linnea Henriksson, Lisa Miskovsky, Jakob Hellman, Moto Boy, Tingsek and Rigmor Gustafsson. The composer and lyricist Jan-Erik Sääf has mainly worked in the world of theater, where his musicals and play music have been played on many stages over the years. This year, he is currently working on the musical Camera about Ingrid Bergman at SPIRA in Jönköping, for which he is responsible for the script, lyrics and direction. Pernilla Nydesjö is both an artist and a music teacher, and has worked for Wallmans Nöjen and Astrid Lindgren's World. Pernilla is the narrator during the concert, and has also done the choreography.
