Join us in celebrating one of Britain’s most original musical voices. Thomas Adès plays composer, conductor and pianist in his 50th birthday concert with the versatile Britten Sinfonia.

Adès’s hand-picked programme captures the remarkable ability of music to conjure up countless different worlds at the drop of a hat. Make the mad dash from the summit of Olympus in Beethoven’s Prometheus; rustle in the undergrowth with an assortment of woodland wildlife in Janáček’s Concertino; and feel the grind of life aboard an 18th-century sailing ship in the UK premiere of Adès’s new work, Shanty – Over the Sea.
