Gustav Mahler always thought big, but even by his standards, his Third Symphony is remarkable.

One of the largest symphonies ever written, it’s a concert in its own right, teeming with distant trumpets, children’s songs, glittering marches and awe-struck mountaintop meditations.

Mahler throws them all into the mix before ending with a ravishing hymn to love itself.
