Adam Fischer gilt vielen als Gralshüter der frühen klassischen Musik, allen voran von Joseph Haydns Werken. Die Wahrheit aber ist, dass er selbst für internationale Spitzenorchester als eine Idealbesetzung für die Ausdeutung der Spätromantik gilt. Deshalb leitet Adam Fischer ein eigenes Wagner-Festival in Budapest, das sich vor allem musikalisch von seinen Konkurrenten absetzt.
