Turandot » est l’œuvre ultime de Puccini, un véritable testament musical qui réunit dans une ultime apothéose toutes les composantes du génie puccinien. Créé en 1926, cet opéra est considéré de nos jours comme une pièce maîtresse du répertoire lyrique.

Avec « Turandot », Puccini nous transporte dans une Chine ancienne et fantasmée. Au cœur de Pékin se joue le destin d’un triangle amoureux : la cruelle princesse Turandot, le prince tartare Calaf éperdument épris de cette dernière et l’esclave Liù, amoureuse de Calaf. Les accents pathétiques de la passion, l’intensité d’un drame intimiste teinté du charme mystérieux de l’Orient, l’atmosphère envoûtante des contes fantastiques, sont autant d’éléments-clefs de ce monument de l’art lyrique, dont l’écriture fut interrompue par la mort de Puccini. Son ambition était de « faire, contre tous et tout, un opéra de mélodie ». Il y parvint pleinement. Qui n’a jamais entendu le célèbre Nessun Dorma qui fait figure de symbole des airs d’opéra ?

Pour cet ouvrage à grand spectacle, nous retrouvons l’orchestre de la compagnie lyrique Opera 2001 ainsi qu’une distribution vocale et instrumentale à la hauteur de ce magnifique ouvrage.

COMPAGNIE LYRIQUE OPERA 2001 “Turandot” is Puccini's ultimate work, a veritable musical testament which unites in an ultimate apotheosis all the components of the Puccinian genius. Created in 1926, this opera is considered today as a masterpiece of the lyrical repertoire.


With “Turandot”, Puccini transports us to an ancient and fantasized China. In the heart of Beijing, the destiny of a love triangle is played out: the cruel Princess Turandot, the Tartar prince Calaf madly in love with her and the slave Liù, in love with Calaf. The pathetic accents of passion, the intensity of an intimate drama tinged with the mysterious charm of the Orient, the bewitching atmosphere of fantastic tales, are all key elements of this monument of lyrical art, whose he writing was interrupted by the death of Puccini. His ambition was to “make, against everyone and everything, an opera of melody”. He succeeded fully. Who has never heard the famous Nessun Dorma which is a symbol of opera arias?

For this work with great spectacle, we find the orchestra of the opera company Opera 2001 as well as a vocal and instrumental cast at the height of this magnificent work.
