Поставленная 140 лет назад, опера П. Чайковского «Евгений Онегин» стала одной из самых репертуарных на русской и мировой оперных сценах. Через пять лет после первого представления один из рецензентов предсказал ей долговечность. И это неудивительно! В «Евгении Онегине» поэзия Пушкина стала источником гениальной музыки, которая покоряет своей искренностью, драматизмом и трепетом. «Это — чудное сочинение, это музыка, манящая нас к себе и проникающая так глубоко в душу, что её нельзя забыть», писал Дворжак Чайковскому.
И каждый год музыкальные театры планеты являют нам новые и новые постановки этого шедевра. Разве не всё уже сказано в этой «интимной, но сильной драме» Можно ли открыть в ней что-то ещё

В театре «Зазеркалье» уверены, что можно! Здесь по-своему прочитали и услышали творение Пушкина — Чайковского. А как же иначе Ведь свежесть музыки «Онегина» ощущается, как «свежесть ежегодной весны …, когда «кажется, будто всё, каждая деталь в ней насквозь знакома и испытана. Вдруг попадётся в руки партитура, и вновь повеет от музыки весенней свежестью и опять новизной…» (Б. В. Асафьев).

Staged 140 years ago, P. Tchaikovsky’s opera “Eugene Onegin” has become one of the most repertoires on the Russian and world opera stages. Five years after its first introduction, one reviewer predicted its longevity. And this is not surprising! In “Eugene Onegin,” Pushkin’s poetry became the source of brilliant music that captivates with its sincerity, drama and awe. “This is a wonderful composition, this is music that beckons us to itself and penetrates so deeply into the soul that it cannot be forgotten,” Dvorak wrote to Tchaikovsky.
And every year the musical theaters of the planet present us with new and new productions of this masterpiece. Isn't everything already said in this "intimate but powerful drama"? Is there more to discover in it?

At the Zazerkalye Theater we are sure that it is possible! Here we read and heard the work of Pushkin and Tchaikovsky in our own way. How could it be otherwise? After all, the freshness of the music of “Onegin” is felt like “the freshness of the annual spring ... when “it seems as if everything, every detail in it is thoroughly familiar and tested. Suddenly the score will fall into your hands, and again the music will smell of spring freshness and again newness...” (B.V. Asafiev).
