Zórika, the daughter of the rural landowner Péter Dragoján, is preparing for the wedding of her neighbor's rich peasant son, Gábor. However, Józsi, Zórika's childhood love, who fought from the viscosity of the nearby gypsy line to become the number one primate of a rural town, unexpectedly came to the ceremony. The planned marriage is swept away by old love, and Zórika escapes all social expectations with Józsi to follow her to the gypsy camp. Not only the embarrassed father-in-law and the abandoned groom look at the escape with a bad eye, but also Józsi's former lover, Ilona, ​​the rural prima donna, who does not shy away from appearing uninvited on the estate of Péter Dragoján…

In Gypsy Love, three different cultures, three irreconcilable worlds meet and collide embedded in a romantic love story. Like all masterpieces, Lehár's operetta goes beyond itself: it expands the eternal theme of the desire for freedom, the search for happiness, with the historical experience of how fragile and self-evident the peaceful coexistence of different ethnicities can be.

The author’s operative music world unfolds in grandiose tabloids, passionate and painfully beautiful solos, and duets in Gypsy Love, with unforgettable tracks like I Am Far Away in the Great Forest or the Wild Gypsy.
