Biography
Bass Stephan Kirchgraber began his career at the Greater Miami Opera (now the Florida Grand Opera) after studies at the University of Illinois, and in Munich, Germany with Prof. Hans Hotter. He made his professional debut with the south Florida company in 'La Gioconda', and has returned there for principal bass roles in 'Macbeth' (Banco), 'Norma' (Oroveso), 'Turandot' (Timur), and the American premiere of the final version of Franchetti's 'Cristoforo Colombo' (Bobadilla). Mr. Kirchgraber's most recents successes include his debut in the role of Zaccaria ('Nabucco') for Opera Theater of Montclair, Ramphis ('Aida') for Lyric Artists of New York as a benefit for Doctors without Borders and Daland (Der Fliegende Hollaender) with the United Nations Orchestra.
