Zurich, SwitzerlandThe Austrian-born bass-baritone has been working at the Cottbus State Theater since autumn 2021 and is singing the roles of Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro and Daland in The Flying Dutchman, among others. In the 2020/2021 season, his Kezal in The Bartered Bride and Bartolo in Barbiere di Siviglia were celebrated by audiences and critics. Solo engagements took place at the Deutsche Oper Berlin ( Invisible Fronts, R. Krampe), in the Berlin Philharmonie with the Berlin Philharmonic (Das Telefon, Gian Carlo Menotti) and at the State Opera Berlin (A Monteverdi Project under Saar Magal). From 2017 to 2019 the Wiesbaden State Theater engaged Philipp Mayer for five guest engagements and sang, among others, Zuniga in Carmen. More info...
