Sophia Schneider

Born in Munich, Sophia Schneider studied set and costume design in Stuttgart and fine art in Strasbourg. She worked briefly as an assistant at the Staatsoper Stuttgart and for the Ruhrtriennale Duisburg, before in 2012 becoming a freelancer. In 2014, she and the German stage director Verena Stoiber received first prize at the Ring Award competition for stage direction and design for their conception of the opera Der Freischütz. Subsequently, Sophia Schneider worked with Verena Stoiber at the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Konrad Boehmer’s Sensor, 2015), in Nuremberg (Rigoletto, 2016), Graz (Tristan und Isolde, 2016), Potsdam (Israel in Egypt, 2016) and Skopje (La traviata,2017).
