We present the operetta in the Czech language.

An operetta like you've never seen before. Actually, you couldn't even see it in the Czech Republic, because it is a Czech premiere! Kálmán's last operetta pays tribute to the Wild West.

Temperamental rancher Lona Farrel, still fighting her feelings, eventually succumbs to singing cowboy Roy Dexter. And who will help her in this? After all, her best mare! Come, it will be a nice rodeo!

 

 

The opera ensemble will present the Czech premiere of Emmerich Kálmán's last operetta, Arizona Lady , on December 17 from 7 p.m. The great composer's last scenic work was completed by his son Karel (Charles) Kálmán. The operetta first premiered on Bavarian Radio and only then on stage in Bern in 1954. The libretto was written by Alfred Grünwald and Gustav Beer, translated into Czech by Jan Ondráček, and the Czech texts were edited by Patrick Fridrichovský. The story takes place in 1920 in Arizona, where the daughter of a Hungarian emigrant, Lona Farrell, has a farm. Lona deals with the problems of running the farm as well as relationship problems in her life, most notably with Roy Dexter from Colorado. You will find out how this western story turns out and "who" is behind the title of the work when you visit a performance of this title. We present the operetta in the Czech premiere!!!

Opereta, jakou jste ještě neviděli. Vlastně jste ji ani v Čechách vidět nemohli, protože se jedná o českou premiéru! Kálmánova poslední opereta vzdává hold Divokému západu.

Temperamentní rančerka Lona Farrel, která se stále brání svým citům, nakonec podlehne zpívajícímu kovbojovi Roy Dexterovi. A kdo jí v tom pomůže? Přece její nejlepší klisna! Přijďte, bude to pěkné rodeo!

 

 

Soubor opery uvede 17. prosince od 19 hodin českou premiéru poslední operety Emmericha Kálmána Arizona Lady. Poslední scénické dílo velkého skladatele dokončil jeho syn Karel (Charles) Kálmán. Opereta měla nejdříve premiéru v Bavorském  rozhlase a teprve potom na scéně v Bernu 1954. Libreto napsali Alfred Grünwald a Gustav Beer, do češtiny přeložil Jan Ondráček a české texty upravil Patrick Fridrichovský. Příběh se odehrává v roce 1920 v Arizoně, kde má farmu dcera maďarského emigranta, Lona Farrell. Lona řeší problémy s chodem farmy a také vztahové problémy ve svém životě, především s Royem Dexterem z Colorada. Jak dopadne tento westernový příběh a „kdo“ se skrývá za názvem díla, zjistíte při návštěvě představení tohoto titulu. Operetu uvádíme v české premiéře!!!
