This will be a magnificent choral celebration, guaranteed to send shivers down your spine. The Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Concert Choir perform Carl Orff's thrilling Carmina Burana under the direction of Martina Batič.

The goddess of fate, Fortuna, is both praised and condemned in the magnificent opening chorus, followed by rowdy songs, beautiful declarations of love and even a swan being burned alive!

Carmina Burana is a celebration of spring, encapsulating dancing and drunkenness, desire and rejection, devotion and love. The work has no distinct plot, but the texts form a cross-section of lived experience, as rich and varied today as in the Middle Ages.

Orff's music is full of colourful orchestration and pulsating rhythms, with orchestral and choral voices providing intimate, unspeakably beautiful moments that can bring both chills and tears.

Det bliver en storslået korfest med garanti for kuldegysninger, når DR Symfoniorkestret og DR Koncertkoret opfører Carl Orffs storværk ‘Carmina Burana’. Efter det ikoniske åbningskor med de pulserende rytmer venter både vilde drikkesange, smukke kærlighedserklæringer og en fejring af forår, kærlighed, lykke, lyst og liv.

Det stærke åbningskor i Carmina Burana er ikonisk, og er bl.a. kendt som den dramatiske åbningsmusik til tv-showet X Factor. Her bliver skæbnens gudinde, Fortuna, både hyldet og fordømt, og derefter går det løs med både livlige drikkesange, smukke kærlighedserklæringer og sågar en svane, der brændes levende!

Carmina Burana er en fejring af forår og kærlighed, af lykke, lyst og liv. Værket har intet plot, men satserne danner et tværsnit af livet, lige så kontrastfyldt og indholdsrigt i dag som i middelalderen. Efter den storladne åbning følger dans og fuldskab, lyst og afvisning, hengivenhed og kærlighed.

Orffs musik er fuld af farverig orkestrering og pulserende rytmer, med orkester- og korstemmer, der giver arkaiske og intime, usigeligt smukke øjeblikke, der kan give både kuldegysninger og en tåre i øjenkrogen.
